Bindi Irwin’s Spouse Chandler Powell ‘Pulled’ To See U.S. Family

Bindi Irwin’s Spouse Chandler Powell ‘Pulled’ To See U.S. Family

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell have shared their love story with fans for years. However, with them growing up in different countries, things aren’t always easy, especially when it comes to seeing each other’s families. Recently, a source weighed in on the story, explaining how complicated the situation can be.

Bindi Irwin & Chandler Powell Married In 2020

Bindi is the daughter of the late conservationist Steve Irwin, serving as the chief executive officer of Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland. She has also become known as a television personality, appearing in shows like Dancing with the Stars and Crikey! It’s the Irwins.

Bindi met American pro wakeboarder Chandler Powell in 2013 at the zoo, and the two started dating a few years later. The two were married in 2020 and share a daughter, Grace, who was born on their first wedding anniversary.

The two have famously shared their story of love across continents with many over the years. However, as with any relationship, things aren’t always easy. Recently, a source spoke with In Touch, feeling that things can especially be hard on Chandler when it comes to being away from his family in the States.

The source noted that Chandler’s family has an “open invite” to visit Australia. However, they noted that “a lot of his relatives are getting old and making such a long trip is difficult, so he’s really feeling pulled to go home and get some quality time in before it’s too late.”

In November, Chandler Powell Shared A Trip To Florida With Fans, Complete With A Photo Of Grace & A New Friend

According to the source, bringing the family to the States isn’t as easy as it seems, either. He shared, “Chandler would love to take Bindi and Grace back to America for an extended period, but there’s just no way Bindi can leave the zoo with him gone at the same time, so they’ve had to settle for him just taking Grace on his own. When he does get back, it’s usually only for a week at a time, which just isn’t enough.”

As for Bindi, the source felt that she would always support Chandler when it comes to his family, but things are currently out of her hands, especially regarding the zoo. They shared, “Bindi would never want to hold him back, but she’s also very reliant on him. He’s not just her rock at home; he’s become so crucial for the day-to-day operations at the zoo. When he goes, it’s going to mean a ton more on her shoulders.” They also noted that, while he wants to see his family, Powell is also protective of his wife and her needs.

However, Powell has been able to make such trips as of late. Back in November, he shared a trip to the States with Grace in a post on Instagram. At the time, he wrote, “Phoebe the flamingo in the Tampa airport is always a must-see. Showing Grace my home state and getting some family time was fantastic while we’ve been in the USA.” Bindi was also happy to see this, writing, “Makes my heart so happy,” in the comments.
