Texas-based rapper Enchanting has died at the age of 26.
The rapper’s – real name Channing Nicole Larry – death was confirmed yesterday (June 11) by her affiliate CJ Kasino, who wrote on Instagram: “[SIC] They Pulled The Plug Bro This Shit So Fucked Up I Just Knew You was Finna Pull Threw”. His post eludes to Enchanting being placed on life support, and had the plug pulled on her.
This was further supported by a statement from her management team, who told The Shade Room that she was facing withdrawals from drugs: “She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried”.
Enchanting signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records in 2020 before departing the record label last year. Over the course of her career, Enchanting released five studio albums, ending with ‘Luv Scarred/No Luv (Deluxe)’ in November 2022. The album featured several collaborations with the likes of Gucci Mane, Coi Leray Big Scarr and Key Glock.
Following the news of her death, several rappers have paid tribute to the late Enchanting. Gucci Mane wrote on Instagram: “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant.”
Her boyfriend MotionGod Bandman wrote on Facebook: “You finally found that peace that you was looking for.”
