Pitbull covered Oasis‘ ‘Wonderwall’ at his record-breaking BST Hyde Park gig – check out footage below.

Mr Worldwide played a giant concert in London’s Hyde Park on Friday (July 10), where he and the crowd set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

During the gig, Pitbull paid homage to England’s football team with a cover of ‘Wonderwall’. “Being here I thought, what was the best way to represent you all,” he explained. “And a good friend of mine said, I think you should do this record. So, let’s not just talk about it, let’s do it…”

The classic 1995 Oasis track has become the unofficial soundtrack for the England team at the World Cup this year, with the players coming together at the end of their recent matches to sing it with fans in the crowd.

Pitbull’s version came ahead of England’s 2-1 victory against Norway last night (July 11), which has sent them to the World Cup semi-final. They will now go on to face Argentina in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday (July 15).

England’s squad have also belted it after victories against Croatia, Panama and DR Congo, and recently made headlines after their 3-2 win over Mexico – where Kane sang so loudly with fans that he briefly lost his voice. The Mexico celebrations also saw Jordan Henderson injure his wrist in a freak accident while running to join the team as they sang.

Noel Gallagher quickly threw his support behind the track becoming England’s 2026 World Cup anthem, saying the song “belongs to the people”. He also admitted that he “couldn’t believe” that Jude Bellingham really knew the lyrics.

Liam Gallagher also reacted to the news that ‘Wonderwall’ had seen a 50 per cent spike in streams on Spotify in the UK thanks to the World Cup, and has now said that he’s prepared to fly out to New York stadium and sing the song live if England makes it to the final.

After one fan reached out and said that it was “mandatory” that the singer “fly out there and sing ‘Wonderwall’ live on the pitch” if Thomas Tuchel’s side make it all the way, Liam gave a reply suggesting that he was already thinking along the same lines: “We’ll see, I’m ready.”

Liam has also predicted that England will win the World Cup, saying they’ve “gotta make it happen”.

“And it goes to show you if you believe it, you dream it, you can achieve it. We want to say thank you. You know why, Baldies? ‘Cause we motherfucking did it! So not only are we here to congratulate, we’re here to celebrate.”

As for Pitbull’s BST Hyde Park Gig, he was joined by special guest Kesha – also in a bald cap for the occasion – to perform their hit ‘Timber’ together for the first time in 13 years. It comes after re-credited Kesha on the song, following backlash after her name was removed from the 2013 video.

BBC Radio 1 Breakfast presenter Greg James and TikTok creator Jack Remmington kickstarted the record-setting idea last year, after the latter posted a video suggesting the record should be attempted at BST, while James helped get Pitbull on board.

Previously, one of the biggest crowds to wear bald caps at Pitbull’s shows was at his sold-out shows at The O2 in London last year. Footage of the audiences soon went viral, and led to fans at other tour dates doing the same.

The shows were part of the European leg of his ‘Party After Dark Tour’, where he was joined by Lil Jon. On stage at The O2, he addressed the crowd and thanked them for getting dressed up for the event.

“Now I wanna say a special thank you to everybody who came out with bald caps here tonight,” he said at the time. “It’s amazing to see, and it’s amazing to feel.”
