‘American Idol’ Season 23 Winner Is…

The Season 23 American Idol winner has finally been crowned, and it is an exciting night. On Sunday, May 18th, the three finalists took the stage, but who won it all? More so, was it who America predicted? Keep reading for all of the exciting details.

    American Idol Crowns Its Winner

It’s been a little over two months since Season 23 of American Idol first premiered. This was a big season given that Katy Perry had left her post as a judge. In her place was Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood, and fans were torn over her performance. Some felt she was not harsh enough, while others appreciated what she brought to the hit reality singing competition series. Jelly Roll was brought in as the first-ever Artist in Residence, and he brought a light that everyone loved. There have been some incredible performances and a groundbreaking Easter episode that lifted up spirits.

Now, it is down to three: Breanna Nix, John Foster, and Jamal Roberts. They all possess an incredible talent, but fans seem to believe that John will win. He is a young country singer who is charming and sweet. Although Jamal is incredibly talented, it was noted that artists who aren’t in the country genre rarely win. As for Breanna, she has been compared to Carrie, so that could bode well for her. In the end, there could only be one winner, and that is Jamal Roberts. They had the biggest vote in history with 26 million.

Coming in as the American Idol runner-up is John Foster. This means that Breanan Nix came in third, but fans have not been pleased that it was a three-person finale. Celebrities filled up the stage with performances such as Patti LaBelle, Jessica Simpson, Salt-N-Pepa, Goo Goo Dolls, Good Charlotte, and more. It was an epic event to commemorate a fun and fantastic season.

    Fans Have Favorites

Ahead of the American Idol finale, viewers had their favorites to win. They varied from person to person, and some wished those who had been sent home had a chance. Ultimately, they may thrive regardless, as past contestants have. However, this is what fans had to say:

    • The only person I really care about winning is Jamal, but really I don’t get John being in the Top 3?! Thunderstorm and Slater are much bigger talents!!
    • TEAM JOHN FOSTER ALL THE WAY! Clearly he is the BEST!!!!
    • JAMAL AND BREEEEE
    • Breanna has the best voice out of the 3 of them, hands down!!
    • Team Jamal all day long💯I❤️vote please for Jamal
    • ALL THREE ARE TALENT! 👑✨💯

Many wanted Jamal Roberts or John Foster to win, and they got their wish. Yet, one stated that if John won, they knew the show was rigged. In the end, America voted, and they will likely all be successful. Some have stated that it is better not to win, so they are not beholden to an American Idol contract.

What do you think of this season’s winner, and can you see them going far in the music industry? Let us know your thoughts, and we will see you next season on American Idol.
