I’m trying with all my might not to be a broken record here…but I have to live my truth, and my truth is that I live in the Dr. Martens Jadon platform boot. I confess! I like playing with trends and fads as much as the next fashion editor, but as with many things in life, you can’t undermine the true value of reliables. Setting seems to recede to the background of most of our craft conversations, and…

Smartwatches usually tend to not have as much room for design creativity as traditional mechanical watches, but a few watchmakers have found a way to combine both. Notable among these is Fossil, which has wholeheartedly embraced the smart way, bringing the distinctive styling of its various brands to smartwatch forms. Among these is Diesel (Fossil manufactures smartwatches with Diesel branding), known for its deliberately aggressive look which finds appeal the world over particularly for its clothing and shoes, but also for its mechanical wristwatches. The latest product from the stable is the Diesel Griffed Gen 6 smartwatch, which, like many of…

Jennifer Lawrence’s European style streak continues. The actor stepped out in Madrid this morning for a day of engagements, looking fabulous in a cool reiteration of the classic shirt dress. Kiah Holliman’s car accident happened on the last icy day of February 2022. The following morning, clear blue sky lit my journey from Detroit to Grand Rapids, melting any remaining ice from the night before. The earth seemed to smile, soaking in the long-missed sunshine. As the world inhaled the first hint of spring, my lungs collapsed inside of themselves, refusing to let the sunlight touch the freshly wounded parts of me. The natural movement of the world felt absurd. How could the sun rise, the land smile, the breeze move, as if this was any other day? The sun…
