Colter Shaw Gets ‘Keys To His Past In ‘Tracker’ Season 2 Finale

On Sunday, CBS will premiere the Tracker Season 2 finale episode “Echo Ridge.” This season-ender promises a lot of surprises. “Colter returns to Echo Ridge to investigate a diner owner’s disappearance, only to uncover a decades-old kidnapping and a shocking family secret.”

From the start of the series, viewers learned of Colter Shaw’s family tragedy. He was young when his father was killed. For years, he believed his brother Russell was responsible. Russell also shared that there was a lot that happened that night including another person. Later, that man was seen talking to their mother. The encounter was unusual as she asked him to keep quiet about what happened the night Ashton Shaw died.

Now, thanks to his sister Dory, he has learned that there are some details he was not aware of.

Now that the season finale episode shows Justin Hartley’s character returning home to Echo Ridge and seeing his mother, there are going to be some big surprises. Most importantly, Colter will get some “keys to his past.”

Here are some hints around the upcoming Season 2 finale courtesy of Tracker’s showrunner.

Colter Shaw Discovers ‘Keys To His Past’ In Tracker Season 2 Season Finale Episode

For two seasons, Tracker fans have watched Justin Hartley’s character Colter Shaw curate small details and parley that into finding people. No clue is too small. No detail is overlooked.

Therefore, when he returns home to Echo Ridge, he is going to uncover some forgotten details. According to showrunner Elwood Reid, Colter will have some realizations. Speaking to TV Insider, Reid shared, “I think Colter comes home, and he realizes two things. He realizes that this town of Echo Ridge has changed. it’s a darker place, and it goes to this theory…I have –and I know Justin hares quite a bit, too–which is like there’s a dark underbelly to the world out there, and I think that’s always what he’s interacting with and it’s right in his backyard.”

And then concurrently to that, he learns vis-a-vis the case a very, very left field piece of evidence that gives him a key to his past.
