Mariska Hargitay Reacts To Cancelled ‘Law & Order’ Spin-Off

Mariska Hargitay is known to many for her work on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Recently, she shared her reaction to seeing another show in the Law & Order franchise come to an end, especially as it impacted an old friend. Since then, fans have also been sharing their own reactions to the moment.

Mariska Hargitay Has Been On Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Since 1999

As an actress, Hargitay is known to many for playing Olivia Benson on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She has portrayed the character since 1999, making Benson the longest-running character in an American primetime drama.

Law & Order: SVU is itself the first spin-off of Law & Order. Over the years, fans have seen the show branch off into other spin-offs, foreign adaptations, and even video games.

Recently, Hargitay has been sharing her support for Christopher Meloni after the cancellation of his show, Law & Order: Organized Crime. Previously, it was announced that the show would not return after its fifth season. Meloni himself announced the news in an Instagram video.

Fans Hoped They Would See Hargitay & Christopher Meloni Back On Screen Together

Sharing that he had seen the news of the show coming to an end, Meloni wanted to share his gratitude with fans. As he wrote, “Thank you, OC/SVU fans. You gave me a life.” Ultimately, he shared that he had a “great time” on the show, which he described as a “great run” overall.

For her part, Hargitay took to the comments to support Meloni. In a simple share, she wrote, “P4L,” with a heart emoji, presumably meaning, “Partners for life.” As fans know, Meloni originally portrayed NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit prior to appearing on the Organized Crime spin-off.
