    Mark Hamill Joins Peacock’s ‘Twisted Metal’

    Having delivered two seasons of violent vehicular mayhem, dystopian weirdness and unhinged characters, Peacock’s PlayStation game adaptation ‘Twisted Metal’ was renewed for a third round back in November.

    Now, the show is adding a genre stalwart to its roster, as ‘Star Wars’ icon Mark Hamill will be part of the line-up for the new season.

    Air Date: July 27th, 2023

    With stars Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz returning, there’s no word yet on when the show will be back on our screens.

    What’s the story of ‘Twisted Metal’?

    The first season followed John Doe (Mackie), a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

    With the help of Quiet (Beatriz), a badass ax-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including deranged clown Sweet Tooth (played on screen by Joe Seanoa, with Will Arnett providing his voice) who drives an all-too-familiar ice cream truck. In season 2, the pair themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso (Anthony Carrigan).

    And –– spoiler alert in case you don’t want to know –– Hamill will play Pope Charlie Kane, the leader of the Eastern Sovereignty and estranged father of Sweet Tooth.

    Mackie was understandably enthusiastic at the news of Hamill’s addition…
