The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys patriarch, Steve McBee is facing thirty years in prison. He will not be featured on Season 2 of the hit reality series and fans have been struggling to figure out why. This may very well be the reason. So, what is going on with Steve and his legal issues? Keep reading for more details.
McBee Dynasty Star Faces 30 Years In Prison, Details
Season 2 of McBee Dynasty will no longer feature Steve McBee trying to wrangle his four sons. They spent Season 1 trying to turn their farm into something that would have longevity. It was vital to Steve that he had a legacy to leave behind. More than that, he did not want all of his hard work to go down the drain. His oldest son, Steven was in charge but could be careless at times. Cole was the one who was out in the field doing the hard work. Then, there were Jesse and Brayden who cared but were not as invested.
Steve was having a dalliance with the CFO of the farm, Galyna which viewers watched play out. They had been together for some time but claimed it was not a relationship. Viewers also watched as equipment was stolen from the farm right under their noses. A lot transpired and now it is about to get much worse. According to People, Steve McBee is facing thirty years behind bars for crop insurance fraud. He has already pleaded guilty, waving his right to a jury trial.
Allegedly, the McBee Dynasty star received crop insurance benefits that he was not necessarily entitled to. Per the DOJ, his pleading guilty means he “engaged in fraudulent activity from 2018 to 2020 that caused an economic loss to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.” A sentence for this could be up to thirty years behind bars without parole. That would mean Steve would not be released until he is 82 years old. The DOJ reports they lost $4,022,123 with Steve forfeiting $3,158,923. Additionally, Steve made a fake report to Rain and Hail and admitted to sending:
“fraudulent documents to Rain and Hail that underreported his total 2018 corn crop by approximately 674,812 bushels and underreported his total 2018 soybean crop by approximately 155,833 bushels.”
What He Got
When the McBee Dynasty star made fake reports, he received a large sum of money to the tune of $2,605,943. That was in federal crop insurance benefits followed by $552,980 in subsidies so over $3 million. It is now confirmed that Steve McBee’s legal issues have caused him to be removed from the series. Therefore, his ex-wife, Kristi is stepping in for him. This was not a part of the breakdown for Season 2 and has been a well-kept secret. Fortunately, he was able to watch his son, Jesse McBee get married in October 2024.
