The McBee Dynasty fans have been following Steve McBee Sr.’s legal troubles over the past few years. Recently, news has come out about a settlement agreement in the case. This also comes out shortly after fans learned of another big development concerning Steve Sr. and his family.

Steve McBee Sr. Was Previously Sentenced In The Federal Crop Insurance Fraud Case Back In October 2025

Viewers were introduced to the McBee family through the reality series, The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, which explored their lives running a cattle and farming business in rural Missouri. Starting with the second season, the series has been airing on Bravo.

Previously, family patriarch Steve McBee Sr. pleaded guilty to federal crop insurance fraud. He had admitted to falsifying reports and underreporting crops from 2018 to 2020.

In October 2025, Steve had been sentenced to 24 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release. He was released from prison back in September 2026.

The McBee Dynasty Patriarch Has Recently Been Sharing Updates About This Life On Social Media Since His September Release

Under this plea deal, Steve is now responsible for paying $3,158,923, plus an additional $4,022,124, in restitution to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This settlement was filed by the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri on October 22.

Within 14 days of the settlement, Steve will need to pay at least $300,000. According to the document, “the remaining balance” must be paid in full within 10 months. The agreement also claims that the government’s right to recover the amount “remain[s] in full force and effect.”

Speaking with People, attorney John Ross Glover released a statement in regards to the case, sharing that the famous family approves of the development. He shared, “The McBees are happy with this resolution. They’re happy to put this behind them. Under the terms of the settlement, they will pay $3.1 million, which will be credited, subject to government approval, towards and decrease the restitution by the same amount. As the settlement makes clear, McBees deny all wrongdoing alleged in the civil action.”

As noted, this news comes out just one month after Steve reunited with his family after serving nine months of what was originally a two-year sentence. After his release, he shared a clip of life outdoors on Instagram. Setting the post to John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” he wrote that he had “a little more appreciation for the simple things in life” and thanked the “Lord for all the blessings in my life.”
