Palace and more join line-up for Khruangbin’s huge London Gunnersbury Park show

Palace and more join line-up for Khruangbin’s huge London Gunnersbury Park show

Palace have been added to Khruangbin’s huge Gunnersbury Park open-air show in London this summer.

Last October, Texas trio Khruangbin announced their biggest UK headline gig to date, which will take place at the West London venue on Friday, August 15. TV On The Radio were also announced as the band’s special guests for the show.

Now, it has been confirmed that London indie band Palace will join the line-up, as will Korean-American singer-songwriter NoSo. Tickets are on sale now and you can find yours here.

Palace released their fourth album ‘Ultrasound’ in 2024 and followed it up at the start of this year with the ‘Greyhound’ EP.

Speaking to NME ahead of the release of ‘Ultrasound’, vocalist Leo Wyndham said: “There have been moments over the years when you can feel a bit lost, or you start worrying that you’re running out of steam. This record feels like completely new territory though. We’ve fallen in love with music again and it’s fun to think of the possibilities of where we could go next. There are no limits to what we can make Palace.”

As for Khruangbin, they released their fourth studio album ‘A La Sala’ last year. The album was given a glowing four-star review from NME, who noted: “‘A La Sala’ is a record unlikely to coax anyone to abandon the opinions they’ve become entrenched in: this is a back-to-basics record that chimes with the band’s spritely debut ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’ (2015). It’s not a surprising move, either.”

That said, nothing on ‘A La Sala’ feels phoned-in or anonymous. Khruangbin occupy a unique lane that satisfies obsessive crate-diggers and casual festival-goers alike, as two huge shows at Coachella later this month will prove. Theirs is a discography which only appears to be flourishing with more vivid colours and textures.”

The band also graced NME‘s cover back in 2020. Speaking about their perceived rapid rise to fame at the time, the band’s Laura Lee said: “You have no idea how long it’s going to last when you’re starting out. The whole of last year was a real ‘Holy shit!’ moment. We set out to be a worldwide band – and we got it.”

They are currently in the middle of a major North American tour to support ‘A La Sala’ – see all the dates here.
