Sexyy Red and Shawn Michaels have been seen twerking together backstage at a recent WWE premium live event.
On Sunday (June 9), the St. Louis rapper was the first-ever celebrity host of NXT: Battleground. She was featured throughout the show in segments with various wrestlers including the inaugural Women’s North American champion Keilani Jordan and the NXT World champion Trick Williams.
Afterwards, she took numerous videos with the Heartbreak Kid – including one where both Red and Michaels can be seen twerking to the former’s ‘Get It Sexyy’. You can hear NXT‘s Head of Creative say, “I’m hurting,” before swiftly getting back up at the end of the video.

The two were in another video with the TNA Knockout World Champion Jordynne Grace where they did a quick cooking skit to promote the yellow brand.
Michaels was wearing a chef’s hat that Grace gifted him, which read “Chef Michaels” on the front. The gesture was a reference to many thinking the retired wrestler is “cooking” with the booking of NXT talent, as well as a popular 2009 D-Generation X skit where HBK did his “Sweet chin music” finishing move on a child, superkicking her out of frame.
Red and Michaels have met before. Last month on NXT: Battleground, the ‘In Sexy We Trust’ rapper made a surprise appearance on the regular NXT show to unveil the new Women’s North American Championship belt as well as help Williams win a tag-team match with Je’Von Evans.
Afterwards, videos of her and Michaels surfaced. One saw the former World Heavyweight Champion tell Red to “Come to daddy, sugar,” and the other showed the duo sing along to HBK’s iconic wrestling theme song, ‘I’m A Sexy Boy’.
They asked if I had time to do a video with HBK and Sexyy Red.
Wtf do you think? Cancel my other plans.

Last month, Sexyy Red released her highly-anticipated third mixtape, ‘In Sexyy We Trust’ – the follow-up to her major-label debut ‘Hood’s Hottest Princess’. Lil Baby, Mike WiLL Made-It, VonOff1700, and Drake were featured on the record. The latter was on ‘U My Everything’, which briefly sampled Metro Boomin’s ‘BBL Drizzy’ beat. The record came two months after the release of her first single of the year, ‘Get It Sexyy’ – which also became her first Billboard Top 20.
She is currently on a worldwide festival run, which she kicked off back in February at Rolling Loud California. Red recently received backlash after her festival stage design went viral. In the background, the rapper and her dancers dance in front of a massive “Make America Sexyy Again” hat – a play on Donald Trump’s infamous “Make America Great Again”.
Festival-goers called out Roots Picnic – the one-day festival curated by Questlove – for allowing Red to perform with the hat onstage, calling the rapper out for endorsing Trump. The ‘F My Baby Dad’ star responded to the controversy, tweeting: “It’s Sexyy Red [for] President. I’m my own candidate. I’m not endorsing anybody, period.”
In other news, Michaels also invited Drake and Kendrick Lamar to “settle” their feud in a NXT ring. This offer came after Lamar quoted the wrestler’s legendary finisher on ‘Not Like Us’ – his last track in his rap battle with the OVO founder.
