The View fans know that Joy Behar is a comedian and a talk show host. Yet, they may not know about her extensive real estate portfolio. She put one home up for sale a few years ago, but it didn’t get any interest. Now, she’s made a shocking move to sell it as soon as possible. Keep reading for all the details on the unexpected tactic.
Joy Behar Put Hamptons Home On Market In 2024
Joy Behar has accumulated significant wealth in her 40-year career. She first started standup in the early 1980s at the age of 39. That led to some movie roles over the years. She changed paths in 1997 when she joined The View. She revealed on a recent episode that her agent at the time discouraged her from taking the gig. Imagine if she hadn’t!

She took a break from the show, ruining her streak as the longest-running host. That honor goes to Whoopi Goldberg, who joined the ABC talk show in 2007. As one of the veterans of The View, Joy Behar makes an estimated $7 to $8 million a year.
She purchased a 1,315-square-foot condo on New York City’s Upper West Side in 2017 for $2.4 million. It was closer to where The View filmed until the talk show moved to Hudson Square in 2024. That’s the same year Joy Behar first put her home in Sag Harbor on the market.
She purchased the 123-year-old Victorian mansion in 2016 for $4.75 million. The 4,500-square-foot home has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The property includes a gorgeous pool and a separate guesthouse. But Joy Behar doesn’t want it anymore and took drastic steps to get rid of it.

The View Host Makes Shocking Real Estate Move To Sell Property
Joy Behar listed the Hamptons home for $10.95 million in 2024. The price was slashed several times due to the state of the real estate market. The last price was $5.96 million. Instead of slashing the price again, The View host went in the other direction.
According to Realtor.com, the selling price increased to $6.99 million in March 2026. Joy Behar’s listing agents, Ed Gaetjens and John Wines with Saunders & Associates, explained the surprising move. “We told Joy that we’re not just taking [her listing] to take it again, we want to think outside the box on this,” Ed Gaetjens said.

“We just need to be a little more proactive, a little more visual, a little more telling about how things could be,” the agent added. One reason for the price hike was the sale of a nearby home for $11.25 million. The listing agents are banking on homeowners considering Joy Behar’s home to be worthy of a similar price.
The price change just happened in March. The home is still up for grabs. Tell us in the comments if you think increasing the price of the home might help sell it.
