‘The Voice’ Riley Green Bashes Singing, Skill Keeping Him Famous

Riley Green is the newest coach on Season 30 of The Voice, which viewers really like. He has done exceedingly well, especially as a new partner in crime for OG coach Adam Levine. Despite his new gig, he is still faithful to his music career. Yet, the 37-year-old just bashed his singing abilities but detailed the skill that keeps him famous. Keep reading for more on what he had to say.

Riley Green Doesn’t Care For His Singing

Fans of Riley Green have many reasons for loving him. He is a good-looking man, so that is a great start. Then, he is an incredible performer, so that also helps. Additionally, he churns out hit after hit, so there is that “it” factor, which is undeniable. Now, he is a coach on Season 30 of The Voice, which has only added to Riley’s fanbase. However, he recently noted that he does not care for his own singing. That is shocking given how successful he has been, with seven number-one hits on country radio.

He had this to say about his singing abilities:

“Honestly, I think maybe, taste, you know. I think I’ve always thought about things as a fan. Like, what would I wanna see my favorite singer do on stage? How would I want him to perform this song? What type of song we don’t wanna hear him sing? And I think that songwriting for me was what opened the door to having a career.”

It has been Riley Green’s songwriting ability that has kept him afloat, as he believes there are people who sing way better than him. However, he believes that the writing is what has allowed him to keep going for almost a decade:

“So writing from a place that I think is unique to where I grew up, and how I was raised, and my life experiences, I think is about the only way I can set myself apart.”

Riley noted that other writers do not send him many songs, and with good reason. Therefore, his sound will always be unique.

Fans Would Still Love Him, Even Tone Deaf

Despite what Riley Green had to say, fans did not care. They would not be mad if he could not sing; they were obsessed and made that clear in the comments of the Zach Sang Show:

    • He could be toned deaf and I would be a huge fan lol hes a beauty!
    • who cares, he’s so hot it doesn’t matter 😂
    • Who cares. He’s beautiful 😻🤪

Yes, Riley could be successful based on his rugged good looks, but many fans also felt that he was a very talented singer as well. Regardless of what Riley had to say about himself and being less talented than others, he is well-liked:

    • What ? He has a great voice
    • Honey you are very talented

Do you think that Riley Green has a good voice, or should he just stick to songwriting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
