‘Today’ Hoda Kotb Sends Inspiring Message After Career Move

‘Today’ Hoda Kotb Sends Inspiring Message After Career Move

Viewers followed Hoda Kotb for years on Today. While she stepped down from the show last year, during a recent appearance, she talked about how things were starting instead of ending. This came out as Kotb wanted to impart a message to fans about life.

Hoda Kotb Was A Co-Host On Today‘s Fourth Hour For Nearly Two Decades

Kotb is known to many for her work with Today. She served as a co-anchor on the morning show, starting in 2018, and co-hosted the show’s fourth hour, starting in 2007. She also served as a correspondent for Dateline NBC.

Back in 2024, Kotb announced her departure from the morning show. Her last official day was January 10, 2025. However, she temporarily returned to the show between February and March 2026 to help fill in for Savannah Guthrie amid her absence following the disappearance of her mother.

Recently, Kotb spoke at Axios House during the Cannes Lions festival. During the appearance, she opened up about how some of the greatest achievements of her life came out after she finished her fifth decade.

Kotb shared, “All of my blessings, all of them, came after 50. Every single one.” This included adopting her “beautiful kids,” as well as her career aspirations. As she shared, “I got the job I dreamt of on the Today show with Savannah [Guthrie] after 50. Everything happened then.”

Kotb Also Discussed Other Figures Over 50 Who Continue To Pave The Way

Notably, Kotb made this share after leaving Today and starting her own wellness company, Joy 101. As she pointed out, people might have the time to make their dreams come true long after they thought it was possible.

Kotb shared, “Isn’t it crazy how sometimes you think, ‘Did I miss my window?’ And then I realized, at least for me, that things happen right on time. I’m starting a new business as a CEO — I am learning to be in that role in my 60s. So it just shows you, like, life is wide open. You decide if it’s over or not. And nobody’s timeline matters. Nobody’s.” Kotb also weighed in on starting her own company, noting, “You feel growth in places you didn’t know about.”

Now, when it comes to success stories, many people are the exception, not the rule. However, Kotb felt that she wasn’t necessarily an outlier. As she pointed out, many female anchors at major networks are over 50, or even 60. This included Gayle King, Robin Roberts, and even Guthrie herself.

What is your reaction to Hoda Kotb’s recent share? Have you been following this story? Are you keeping up with Today news? Make sure you come back to TV Shows Ace for all the latest TV and celebrity news.
