Taiwanese K-pop idol Tzuyu of girl group TWICE has announced her upcoming solo debut with the release of a trailer for her ‘abouTZU’ mini-album.
Today (August 2), TWICE’s Tzuyu confirmed that she would be the next member of the K-pop girl group to make her solo debut with the release of a trailer for her upcoming mini-album, ‘abouTZU’.
The bewitching video follows the Taiwanese singer as she explores a strange house, accompanied by barely audible spoken lines: “On a day unseen by anyone. I’m a believer, a dreamer. Trust Me. Before I give you my all, I will ask one last time.”
Later in the clip, she picks up a cassette tape she finds in a puddle in the rain, before shooting an imaginary bow and arrow, and looking straight into the camera. “So, are you ready?” she asks.
Tzuyu will be the third member of TWICE to go solo. Bandmate Nayeon was the first, releasing the mini-album ‘IM NAYEON’ with the single ‘POP!’ in 2022. The second was Jihyo, who released the project ‘ZONE’ and the single ‘Killin’ Me Good’ last year.
In other K-pop news, rapper G-Dragon of boyband Big Bang has acquired the trademark rights to his stage name from former agency, YG Entertainment. This comes just months after his label announced that he would be making his long-awaited comeback “in the second half of this year”.
Meanwhile, Korean-Canadian singer Jeon Somi has released a music video for her new single, ‘Ice Cream’, featuring a cameo from Park Seo-joon.
