Watch Disturbed’s David Draiman propose to girlfriend live on stage

Disturbed frontman David Draiman proposed to his girlfriend on stage in Sacramento this week – check out the footage below.

The metal group are currently on tour around North America in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their debut album ‘The Sickness’. UK and European dates will follow in September and October, with support from Megadeth – find all those dates here and tickets here.

Towards the end of their set in the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on Friday (May 9), Draiman interrupted the show to invite his partner Sarah Uli onto the stage.

“Everybody, say hello to my lovely lady Sarah,” he said to the crowd. “She’s looking at me and she’s wondering, ‘What the fuck is he doing?’”

“Sarah, my love. You have made my life so much better. You are the light in the darkness for me. I love you more than anything I have ever loved in this world, and it would be the absolute pinnacle of my life and my existence…”

At this point, Draiman got down on one knee and took out a ring. “Sarah Uli, will you marry me?”

Amid a roar from the crowd, Uli nodded and wiped away a tear. Draiman placed the ring on her finger and they kissed, before he confirmed to the crowd that she had indeed said “yes”.

Draiman was married to the model and actress Lena Yada for 11 years before the two finalised their divorce in 2023. They share a son Samuel, who was born in 2013. He then announced his relationship with Uli in January 2024.

Disturbed, meanwhile, released their new single ‘I Will Not Break’ in February, their first new music since 2022 album ‘Divisive’, which was described by the band’s members as “a necessary song, about becoming stronger than the forces that constantly try to tear you down.”

They have since revealed that they “have a lot of stuff recorded” for their next album. Guitarist Dan Donegan added: “There hasn’t really been much talk about the release yet, just because we’re so focused on these tours”.

Later this summer, Draiman will also be heading to the UK to take part in Black Sabbath’s final-ever live show, which will take place in Birmingham with support from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera and more.

Elsewhere, Draiman offered Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong a view of the “Israeli/Jewish side of this horrific war” after Armstrong changed a lyric to ‘Jesus Of Suburbia’ at Coachella.
