Watch Gracie Abrams channel ‘Romeo + Juliet’ for performances of ‘Hit The Wall’ and ‘Here You Come, There You Go’ on ‘SNL’

Gracie Abrams performed two songs on Saturday Night Live last night (October 31), paying tribute to Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film Romeo + Juliet with a pair of Halloween costumes.

The singer-songwriter returned to the long-running US sketch show for its Halloween special, which was hosted by Obsession star Inde Navarrette.

Abrams opened with ‘Hit The Wall’, the lead single and opening track from her third studio album ‘Daughter From Hell’, which was released in July.

For the performance, she dressed as Claire Danes‘ character Juliet from Romeo + Juliet, wearing the angel costume seen in the film’s famous fancy-dress party sequence.

She also began the song standing behind an aquarium, recreating the moment when Juliet and Romeo, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, first catch sight of one another through a fish tank.

Abrams returned later in the episode for ‘Here You Come, There You Go’, a new song released on Thursday (October 29) that will feature on the forthcoming deluxe edition of ‘Daughter From Hell’.

This time, she dressed as DiCaprio’s Romeo, recreating the character’s Hawaiian shirt and wearing the metallic sleeves from his knight’s costume in the film.

The appearance marked Abrams’ second time as an SNL musical guest, following her debut in December 2024, when she performed ‘That’s So True’ and ‘I Love You, I’m Sorry’ from her second album ‘The Secret Of Us’.

Abrams’ latest performance came just days after she announced an expanded edition of ‘Daughter From Hell’, which will arrive on November 20 via Interscope and will feature five additional songs: ‘Here You Come, There You Go’, ‘Lost In It’, ‘Crazy Girl’, ‘Love Letter’ and ‘Out Of Nowhere’.

The original ‘Daughter From Hell’ was released on July 17 and saw Abrams once again work extensively with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner of The National.

Abrams will embark on her 2026-2027 ‘The Look At My Life Tour’ next month, beginning with a show at Denver’s Ball Arena on December 2.

The extensive arena tour will reach the UK and Ireland next spring, including two nights in Dublin, three in Manchester, two in Glasgow and four at London’s O2 Arena. Support across the tour includes Rachel Chinouriri, Holly Humberstone, Del Water Gap, Jensen McRae, The Japanese House and more.

Meanwhile, The Strokes will be the next musical guests on SNL on November 7, alongside host Druski, before Phoebe Bridgers appears on November 14 with host John Mulaney.
