‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Family Says Goodbye To ‘Best’ Crew Member

Many people come together to help bring Wheel of Fortune together, with the show having run in some form for decades. Recently, however, the crew had to say goodbye to one of their own. Notably, this came from a figure who had an interesting career in television.

Wheel Of Fortune Has Seen A Number Of Figures Come & Go Since It Started In 1975

Wheel of Fortune has aired continuously since 1975. Contestants solve “Hangman”-inspired word puzzles to wish cash and prizes with the help of a massive carnival wheel.

Over the years, various people have helped bring the show together. Since 2024, the show has been hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White. Previously, Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak, who had been part of the show for decades and had himself taken over for Chuck Woolery in the role.

Recently, the crew said farewell to one of their own. This was the show’s veteran stage manager, Jimmy McGuire. In fact, the show itself made sure to give him a proper send-off during a recent broadcast.

During the October 23 episode, Ryan announced, “A big moment right now for our stage manager. Jimmy McGuire, come on in here.” Jimmy then stepped onto the stage amid cheers from the audience. He could be seen wearing a jacket reading, “40th Wheel Season.”

Ryan continued, “Many years of being on this show, and he is moving on. Congratulations!” Vanna hugged Jimmy and kissed him on the cheek. Jimmy shared, “You’re the best!” Returning his kind words, Ryan expressed, “So much fun to work with you.”

For her part, Vanna shared, “It’s been a pleasure. Thank you for making us look so good, counting us down numerous times.” Ryan then asked how much time they had left. Jimmy answered, “We’re saying bye-bye as a matter of fact.” He waved to the cameras and hugged Ryan as things cuts to black.

Jimmy has had a long history with the show, being a crew member before being promoted to stage manager. He also worked on rival game show Jeopardy! as a stage manager. As noted by his IMDB page, he has been part of the Celebrity editions of both game shows.
