Amazon announced earlier this month that Prime Day will be back for its ninth consecutive year, with thousands of deals online over a 48-hour period. Want to shop the best Amazon Prime Day deals? Here’s what we know so far.
When Is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
Amazon has confirmed that Prime Day 2024 will take place this July, though the exact dates have yet to be announced. Amazon Prime Day normally takes place during the second week of July, and it’s a two-day affair. Last year’s Prime Day dates were Tuesday, July 11 to Wednesday, July 12, so if the timing holds correct, the 2024 Prime Day dates could be Tuesday July 9 through Wednesday, July 10.
What Are the Best Amazon Prime Day Deals 2024?
Expect thousands of deals and discounts on Prime Day, across all of Amazon’s categories. The best Prime Day discounts are always on Amazon’s own slate of devices, including Fire TVs and Fire TV sticks; Alexa-enabled Echo speakers and smart displays; Kindle e-readers; Amazon Fire Tablets; and more.
Last year’s top products on sale for Prime Day also included things like the LANEIGE Lip Glowy Balm, Apple AirPods, Beats headphones, the Bissell Little Green Portable Deep Cleaner (currently 20 percent off as of this writing), TUSHY bidets, plus offers from brands like Caraway, True Classic, JBL, Vitamix, Sony and more.
Prime Day is also where Amazon will drop a number of digital deals, on Kindle books and Audible audiobooks, plus steep discounts and offers on Prime Video and Amazon Music.
According to Amazon, the first day of Prime Day last year was the single largest sales day in company history. And, over the course of the two-day shopping event, Prime members purchased more than 375 million items worldwide, making it the biggest Prime Day event ever.
Do You Need to Be a Prime Member to Shop Amazon Prime Day?
In short, yes. As the name suggests, Prime Day is Amazon’s deal event exclusively for Prime members, so you’ll want to be signed-up for a membership before you start shopping. The good news: Amazon has a 30-day free trial that you can grab here to test out a subscription before you commit.
While some deals will be made available to all Amazon shoppers, the best Prime Day deals are reserved for Prime members.
This will be the ninth year of Amazon Prime Day. The first Prime Day event came to life on Amazon’s 20th birthday on July 15, 2015.
