Wicked Wonderland’ Stars Talk ‘Top Secret’ Ending, Evil Chloe and More (Exclusive)

Wicked Wonderland’ Stars Talk ‘Top Secret’ Ending, Evil Chloe and More (Exclusive)

We all go a little Mad (Hatter) sometimes. Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) returned for their next adventure in Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, but this time, they had some new friends join them. (Warning: Spoilers for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland ahead.)

One of those friends happens to be Red’s little sister, Pink (Liamani Segura), and she has to navigate this new relationship while juggling her friendship with Chloe. In an interview with TV Insider, Cantrall acknowledged Red’s “complicated journey” with her sister and her best friend. “I think it’s cool how Pink breaks her walls down throughout the film and brings up this vulnerable side of her,” Cantrall said.

As Red is dealing with Pink, a possible new romance with Luis Madrigal (Alexandro Byrd), and saving her mom (Rita Ora) from Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam), her friendship with Chloe takes a backseat. “I mean, that takes a plot twist for sure,” Cantrall quipped.

That plot twist? Chloe turns into Evil Chloe for a period, with a little help from Max Hatter (Brendon Tremblay). Chloe’s feelings about being sidelined and being a “perfect princess” boil over, leading to a transformation that includes a darker look.

For Baker, she loved exploring Chloe’s dark side. “I feel like that’s the really fun thing about the villains, especially in these storylines,” Baker explained. “You get to see their whole arc, which I think is kind of rare. When you first get introduced to a villain, they’re already are who they’ve been known to be.”

She continued, “I think it was a lot of fun to be able to play the moments beforehand where she’s not entirely her VK self yet, where things are just building for her, and you see why. I think it makes you feel really empathetic and how someone can get to that point and what brings her back to herself, which is friendship and her love for the people in our life, which I think is just so special.”

As with every Disney fairytale-esque story, there’s always a happy ending. But with every Descendants movie, there’s always a clue about the future. After the sensational final number, “Go Live It,” Pink looks under the table and finds a mysterious jewel that she decides to keep.

We interrogated Segura, who remained tight-lipped about what Pink found. “Honestly, the first time I saw it, I was like, ‘What is that? What even is that?’ I cannot share what’s inside. It’s top secret,” she told TV Insider. “But we’ll have to see.”

Cantrall added, “Mickey told us to keep it confidential.” One thing’s for sure, Chessy’s mischief isn’t over yet.

When we asked if a potential sixth Descendants movie would stay in Wonderland, Segura said, “I don’t think so. I think we’re gonna branch out.”
