In case you missed it, Fielder and Oppenheim revealed their upcoming project, You Can See Everything, at the Telluride Film Festival on September 7. Produced by A24, the company behind recent romances The Drama, Materialists, and We Live in Time, their new documentary features their crew getting up close and personal with Elizabeth Holmes. Yes, the Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos, who’s currently serving over 11 years in prison for fraud. (Amanda Seyfried notably played Holmes in The Dropout.)
In the first teaser for their bold upcoming documentary, Holmes was seen rocking a baby less than a month before she was sent to prison, leading everyone to wonder what Holmes’ personal life is like today. Is Elizabeth Holmes in a relationship?
Yes, Holmes (42) met William “Billy” Evans (33) in 2017, and they got engaged in August 2018. Evans, who has been a staunch supporter of Holmes through her incarceration, is the heir to a luxury hotel company in San Diego, which was founded by his grandparents. According to his LinkedIn, he is currently the CEO of Haemanthus, a biotechnology research company in Texas.
In the trailer, Evans tells Fielder, “I fell in love in that first conversation,” adding that it was probably before she revealed that she was the founder of Theranos that he caught feelings. While it crossed his mind that she could be scamming him, he asked, “What did she have to gain from me?” After getting a question about his family’s fortune, Evans claimed, “I think that there are a lot of different levels of wealth.”
Are Elizabeth Holmes and Billy Evans married?
While Holmes and Evans got engaged eight years ago, they haven’t gotten married yet. According to People, Evans proposed to Holmes soon after they attended Taylor Swift‘s reputation tour, with a snake ring he bought at the concert. As for why the duo has yet to tie the knot, Holmes told the outlet, “Maybe we’ll get married someday. But our bond is more than a piece of paper.”

Does Elizabeth Holmes have kids?
Holmes and Evans have two kids together, William and Invicta, born in 2021 and 2023, respectively. In 2021, Holmes’ pregnancy delayed her trial, which was already on hold due to the pandemic. Her daughter’s birth in February 2023 pushed the date on which she had to report to prison from April to May. While some questioned whether Holmes specifically timed these pregnancies, she told People, “I always wanted to be a mother. I truly did not think I would ever be convicted or found guilty.”

Who else has Elizabeth Holmes dated?
Viewers of The Dropout may recall that Holmes previously dated Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani (played by Naveen Andrews in the series), a businessman who served as president and COO of Theranos, after they met when she was 18. He is currently serving 13 years in prison. Looking back at their relationship, Holmes told People, “I actually didn’t think I’d be with anyone else [after Balwani]. I really wanted to grow in that way, be on my own. But in this relationship, God put me on this Earth to find Billy. I’m trusting my heart to feel that.”
Why did Elizabeth Holmes and Sunny Balwani break up?
While Holmes and Balwani dated for 12 years, they kept their romantic relationship under wraps at Theranos. When Balwani left the company (some claim he was fired), their romantic relationship ended as well. During her testimony, Holmes claimed that Balwani mistreated her emotionally and physically during their relationship.
