Katie Maloney Trolls Jax Taylor Over Fake Brand Deal

Katie Maloney Trolls Jax Taylor Over Fake Brand Deal

There was no love lost between Katie Maloney and Jax Taylor. The Vanderpump Rules stars were part of the same core friend group, but weren’t close. They were cordial to keep the peace, but the gloves are off now that neither is on the Bravo show anymore. Katie Maloney poked fun at his embarrassing fake brand deal and brought up his shady past. Keep reading for all the details.

Jax Taylor Fooled By Fake Collab

The right reality TV show can pull in the big bucks. But many reality stars have turned to the internet to increase their income amid the rising focus on social media influencers. Even the highest-paid celebrities partner with huge brands for commercials, such as Jennifer Garner’s Capital One ads.

Less famous reality show stars collaborate with other social media influencers or popular brands to create buzz-worthy content. Jax Taylor collaborated with Smartwater for a shirtless pool photoshoot.

But it turned out to be a scam. The premium bottled water brand denied any partnership with the The Valley alum. Jax Taylor quickly removed the post and issued a statement about the embarrassing incident.

“A few weeks ago, I accepted what I believed was a legitimate campaign opportunity through a third party influencer platform, like many creators use. I received the offer, emails, creative brief and deliverables. I trusted a platform that turned out not to be legitimate,’ Jax wrote on social media.

He added, “I have never and would never intentionally misrepresent a partnership.” But Katie Maloney says otherwise.

Katie Maloney Trolls Jax Taylor Over Embarrassing Fake Brand Deal

Katie Maloney was married to Jax Taylor’s best friend, Tom Schwartz, for five years. She seemingly confirmed an engagement to her current beau, musician Nick Martin, on Stassi Schroeder’s new Hulu show, House of Stassi.

Katie Maloney had a lot to say about Jax Taylor’s embarrassing fake brand deal. She talked about it on the Disrespectfully podcast she hosts with former Vanderpump Rules co-star, Dayna Kathan. Katie suggested that Jax Taylor knew Smartwater wasn’t involved in the partnership from the get-go. “He’s been doing this sh*t for literal years. Thanking a brand for something that he bought could be an interesting strategy,” she said. “It’s not the worst idea ever, but his execution is terrible. It’s so easily traceable to bullsh*t.”

Dayna Kathan brought up previous “grifts” by Jax, such as an HGTV show and a job with a Florida hockey team. Katie Maloney trolled Jax by pointing out that Smartwater only partners with huge celebrities, like Jennifer Aniston.

Katie Maloney issued a stark warning to Jax Taylor: “What is done in the dark will come to light. Of course people are going to find out how horribly abusive you are. No one is going to keep that secret forever.”

Jax Taylor was fired from The Valley after Season 2. Katie Maloney’s abuse allegations are unconfirmed and it’s not clear if she’s talking about how he treated his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, or someone else on the cast. Share your thoughts in the comments.
